Languages
Novus Striker is published in English. The wider Novus estate works to a shared list of 5 languages, and this page shows both, because they are not the same thing yet. Everything below is generated from that list rather than typed out, so it cannot fall behind it.
Where each language stands
Three separate questions, kept apart on purpose. What the shared contract reserves, whether the interface strings have been written, and whether any URL on this host actually serves them. The last column is the only one a visitor can act on.
| Language | Tag | Address | Interface strings | Served here |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| English | en | / | Written and verified | Served now, from every URL without a language prefix. |
| Español | es | /es | Written and verified | Not rendered here. The address is reserved by the shared contract, not published. |
| Deutsch | de | /de | Written and verified | Not rendered here. The address is reserved by the shared contract, not published. |
| Português | pt-BR | /pt | Written and verified | Not rendered here. The address is reserved by the shared contract, not published. |
| 日本語 | ja | /ja | Written and verified | Not rendered here. The address is reserved by the shared contract, not published. |
What is not here yet
Being plain about this is the point of the page. 4 of the 5 languages on the shared list have no page on this host. There is no language switcher anywhere on this site and no partly translated page, because a switcher that changes nothing is worse than no switcher: it tells you the site speaks your language and then does not.
The unusual part, said out loud rather than left to be discovered: 4 of those languages already have their interface strings written and checked — every navigation label, footer heading, consent notice and error screen — and there is no URL that renders them. The strings are finished; the routes that would serve them are not built. The table above measures that from the catalogues themselves, so it will stop saying it on the day it stops being true.
Nothing on this site is machine-translated on the fly. If you reach a page in a language you did not ask for, that is your browser’s own translation feature, not this site, and nobody here has checked what it says.
A language belongs in the address, not in a cookie
This is why the middle column exists at all. A cookie that changes the page while the address stays the same means a search engine only ever sees one version, so there is nothing to find in any other language — and a link you send opens in whatever language the recipient last chose rather than the one you were reading. A sibling Novus site shipped exactly that, and every visitor who picked a second language got an English page back with the address unchanged. The shared contract exists because of it.
English is deliberately unprefixed. Serving the same page at / and under a language prefix as well would duplicate every URL on the site, and the unprefixed ones are the addresses that are already linked and indexed.
The game is a separate question
This page is about the language of the SITE. The game is a Unity build produced outside this repository, and the release contract this site reads carries no language field at all — so nothing here can tell you what the game’s own menus say, and this page will not guess at it. What the site can tell you about playing without reading much is on the help page: the controls for all three input schemes, drawn as inputs rather than described, and a thirty-second explainer of the whole loop.
Ask for a language
If you would play Novus Striker in one of the languages above, or in one that is not on the list, say so at striker@novusstreamsolutions.com. Which languages people actually want is what decides the order they are done in, and there is no date on this page because there is not one to give.
